Wall Mount Fiber Surface Mount Box - 2 SC/APC Adapters (WMFP-015)
Couldn't load pickup availability
The end of a fiber drop inside a home or a unit needs a tidy place to land, and a plain SC adapter screwed to the wall isn't it. This wall-mount fiber surface box is: a low-profile white ABS enclosure with a cover, pre-loaded with two SC/APC adapters and integrated fiber management for the slack, so the provider's fiber or pigtail lands on the back of an adapter inside the box and the subscriber's patch cord plugs into the front. It mounts on the wall with the two screws in the box, and it's the small fiber distribution unit that provides the interconnection between the central office feed and a multi-dwelling unit in an FTTH, FTTB, or FTTC build, with CATV and LAN entrances as the other common uses. Designed for indoor applications. For a 2-fiber box with a splice tray and a pigtail, the WMFP-003.

Where It Fits
It suits FTTH and FTTP installers landing a fiber drop at the subscriber's wall next to the ONT, GPON and XGS-PON plants that run SC/APC end to end, FTTB and MDU builds that put a small box in each unit, CATV operators bringing a fiber node drop into a building, small business and home office installs where the demarc has to be discreet, anyone who has left a drop dangling behind the ONT with a bare adapter on it, and a job that already has the SC/APC patch cords from the fiber collections to plug into it. For a 2-fiber box with a fixed splice tray and an SC/APC pigtail included, the WMFP-003; for 12 fibers and eight adapters on the wall, the WMFP-014; for a rack-mount distribution point, the RMFP-015 and RMFP-016 slide-out panels.
Good to Know
Both adapters are SC/APC, so everything that plugs into them has to be SC/APC too: a UPC connector in an APC adapter damages both ferrules and reflects enough light to take down a PON link, and APC connectors are the green ones. The sheet lists integrated fiber management and not a splice tray, so plan on landing a connectorized drop or a pre-terminated pigtail on the back of the adapter; if the drop has to be fusion spliced at the wall, the WMFP-003 has the tray and the pigtail for it. It's an indoor box; if the drop comes from outdoors, bring it in through a drip loop and a sealed entry before it reaches the box. Mount it with the cable entry down, strain-relieve the drop at the entry so the adapter never carries tension, and route the slack on the management path rather than coiling it tight. Keep the cover on when you're done, since an open box collects dust on the ferrule, and keep a cap on the adapter without a cord in it. The box is small and plastic; mount it where it won't be kicked.
