IP-66 Rated Outdoor Wall Mount Fiber Termination Box - 2 Splices (WMFP-009)

A single-subscriber fiber drop on the outside of a building needs a box that keeps the rain out, keeps the subscriber out, and lets the installer in without disturbing the splice. This outdoor wall-mount fiber termination box does all three: a low-profile white PC+ABS enclosure rated IP66 against dust and hose-directed water, with a flip-up cover and a lock, and a multi-layer interior that puts the adapters on one layer and the fixed splice tray on another, so turning up the subscriber means opening the adapter layer and nothing more. It holds 2 simplex SC adapters or 2 duplex LC adapters, splices up to 4 fibers on the integrated tray, and manages the slack on built-in cable management rods that keep the fiber within its bend radius, with two cable entry ports for the drop cable. It's the 4-fiber distribution unit between the central office feeder and a unit of an FTTx build. Wall-mount hardware is included; adapters and pigtails are sold separately. Good to Know

Adapters and pigtails are not included, so order the 2 SC simplex or LC duplex adapters and the pigtails for the connector type at the same time; 2 LC duplex is 4 fiber positions against 4 splices, 2 SC simplex is 2, and if the plant is PON the adapters and pigtails should be APC. The IP66 rating is for the closed, locked box with both cable entries sealed; an entry left open or a gland left loose is where the water gets in, so seal every entry, mount the box with the entries down and a drip loop in each cable, and close the lock every time. Route the drop in with strain relief at the entry so the splice never carries tension, keep the buffer tube and pigtails on the management rods and within their bend radius, and don't coil slack outside the rods. Work the layers as designed: splice on the tray layer at installation, then turn up the subscriber from the adapter layer without reopening the tray. It's a plastic enclosure, and the cover and lock get brittle in the cold; mount it out of the way of anything that will knock it. Keep caps on unused adapters, and keep the key where the next technician can find it.
