9" Terminal Crimper & Wire Cutter - 10-22 AWG Insulated & Non-Insulated Terminals (TCC-1022)

This is the full-size terminal crimper, the one with enough handle to close a yellow 10 AWG ring terminal properly and a nose slim enough to reach the terminal strip at the back of a crowded panel. It's a Jonard Tools plier-style crimper with a head marked for insulated and non-insulated solderless terminals and connectors from 10 to 22 AWG, a wire cutter at the tip for squaring the conductor before the terminal goes on, thick plastic-dipped handles, and a black oxide finish on the steel. At 9.65 in and 0.76 lb it has the leverage that the pocket-size crimpers lack, which is what makes the difference between a 10 or 12 AWG crimp that holds and one that pulls out under a gentle tug.

Good to Know

Use the nest that matches the terminal: insulated terminals go in the insulated zone, in the nest sized for their color (red for 22 to 18 AWG, blue for 16 to 14, yellow for 12 to 10), and bare terminals go in the non-insulated zone, where the die folds the barrel into the conductor rather than squeezing an insulation sleeve. Strip to the barrel length and no more, and give every terminal a gentle pull test. This is a plier-style tool rather than a ratchet, so the crimp is finished when you've squeezed to the stop; on a yellow 10 AWG terminal that takes a real squeeze, which is what the long handles are for. It cuts but doesn't strip; a wire stripper for 10 to 22 AWG belongs alongside it. It's a terminal tool, not a modular plug tool; RJ45 and RJ11 plugs need a modular plug crimper. Wipe it down if it gets wet; black oxide resists rust but isn't a plating.
