Good to Know

This is a dedicated tool, not a general-purpose punch-down: it works with the HD 180-degree keystone jacks it's matched to, and other keystone jacks, including 90-degree jacks and other makers' bodies, won't sit in the bed or line up with the blades. Check that your jacks are the HD 180-degree family before you buy, and keep a 110 impact tool for anything else; for HD 90-degree jacks, the matching tool is the TLP-005. Dress the pairs into the jack before you load it into the bed, with the untwist as short as the jack allows, and make sure the jack is fully seated in the bed before you squeeze; a jack that's sitting proud will cut unevenly. Close the handle in one steady squeeze all the way to the stop rather than working it, since the seat and the cut happen together. Clear the trimmed conductor ends out of the bed now and then so they don't get under the next jack. The handle loop is for storage; slip it off before use. The plastics are rated UL 94V-2 for flammability, which is a material rating for the tool body, not a listing for the terminations it makes.
