RG6 BNC Compression Connector, SealSmart, Gold Plated, Standard Shield, Bag of 25 (CONBA-1001SEA)

A camera run ends at a BNC, and the connector that goes on it has to hold in the weather and seat on the first try. This bag of 25 SealSmart gold-plated BNC compression connectors for RG6 is built for that: a gasket molded into the connector seals the cable entry against the weather, a captive center contact means one compression stroke finishes the termination, with no separate pin to lose or seat, and the gold plating keeps the contact surface clean through years of damp. The universal SealSmart compression tool terminates it along with the other two SealSmart connector designs, so one tool covers the bag. It's the BNC for terminating RG6 in surveillance systems, CATV plant, and home theater and AV runs that end in a bayonet rather than a thread.
Features
- Compression BNC connector for RG6. Universal fit for standard-shield RG6 coax.
- Molded-in gasket. A weather-tight seal at the cable entry, for outdoor and damp locations.
- Single compression termination. Captive center contact; one stroke of the tool finishes the connector.
- Universal tool. The SealSmart compression tool terminates all three SealSmart connector designs.
- Gold plated. Corrosion-resistant contact surface.
- Bag of 25.
Where It Fits
It suits security installers terminating RG6 camera runs at the camera and the DVR, with the gasket doing the work at the outdoor end and the gold holding up on a pole or an eave, AV and broadcast racks building BNC patch cables to length, CATV and test benches that need a BNC on a 75 Ω line, anyone who has had a crimp-on BNC pull off a cable or an unsealed one corrode green at the camera, and a job that already has the RG6 bulk coax, the compression tool, the coax stripper, and the BNC inline couplers from the coax collections. For joining two of these end to end, the CONAN-1001COU BNC coupler; for the SealSmart F connector on RG59, the CONBE-1001SEA.
Good to Know
A compression connector is only as good as the prep: strip the cable to the connector's dimensions with a coax stripper, fold the braid back over the jacket, keep every strand of braid off the center conductor, and push the connector on until the dielectric is flush before compressing, since a connector that's compressed short will test fine and fail in the rain. Use the matching compression tool; a crimp tool or pliers will crush the body without seating it, and a tool for another maker's connector may not stroke to the right length. The gasket seals the cable entry; the front still needs to be locked on the port, so push the BNC on until the bayonet pins seat and turn it until it clicks home, and outdoors add a weather boot or put the joint inside the camera housing. This connector is sized for standard-shield RG6; quad-shield RG6 is thicker under the jacket and needs the connector sized for it. Gold on gold or gold on nickel is fine; the plating is there for the contact surface and against oxidation, not to be matched. Order the tool with the first bag if you don't have one, and keep a few spares on the truck for the ones that get cut off in testing.
