RG59 Siamese Plenum Cable CMP - 20 AWG Bare Copper Video + 18/2 Power, 1000ft White
Ships on a wooden spool. These reels are large and heavy, so shipping costs more than a standard parcel and the shipment requires a receiver who can accept and handle it. Confirm your delivery location can accommodate a shipment of this size and weight before placing your order.
Delivery refusal policy. Because of the size and weight of this item, refused deliveries incur significant freight costs. If a shipment is refused or the receiver cannot accept it, you are responsible for both outbound and return freight, plus any restocking fee.

In an office, school, hospital, or store, the space above the drop ceiling is usually a return-air plenum, and any cable that runs through it without conduit has to be plenum rated. This is the security camera cable for those buildings: the RG59 coax that carries the video and the 18/2 pair that powers the camera, joined side by side in one low-smoke plenum jacket, so every camera gets one pull from the DVR through the ceiling space. The coax is the all-copper CCTV construction, a 20 AWG solid bare copper center conductor in foam FEP under a 95% bare copper braid, the shield that analog and HD-over-coax cameras are specified around because a baseband video return path wants low resistance from end to end. The power leg is two 18 AWG stranded bare copper conductors, insulated black and white, sized for 12 V DC or 24 V AC cameras.
The jacket is UL Listed CMP for the coax and CL2P for the power pair, the combination a siamese cable needs for a return-air plenum under the NEC, and the cable is made in the USA. It comes on a 1000 ft wooden spool, in white, with footage marks on the jacket.
Features
- Coax and power in one jacket. RG59 video and an 18/2 power pair in a single siamese cable, so each camera is one pull through the ceiling, one hole, and one tidy bundle at the DVR.
- CMP and CL2P plenum rated. Low-smoke jacket listed for return-air plenums, drop ceilings, and raised floors without conduit.
- 95% bare copper braid. The dense copper shield that CCTV, HD-TVI, HD-CVI, and AHD cameras call for, with the low shield resistance a baseband video signal needs.
- 20 AWG solid bare copper center conductor. Standard RG59 gauge in solid copper, for clean video and reliable BNC terminations.
- 18/2 stranded bare copper power pair. Black and white PVC-insulated conductors for 12 V DC or 24 V AC camera power.
- Foam FEP dielectric. Plenum-grade insulation with stable impedance from -20 °C to 75 °C, which covers a ceiling space next to HVAC equipment.
- 75 Ω, swept to 3 GHz. Covers every analog and HD-over-coax camera format, with headroom for CATV or satellite if a run is ever repurposed.
- UL Listed, ETL Verified, RoHS compliant, made in the USA.
- 1000 ft wooden spool, white. Footage marks on the jacket; put it on a spool stand and it pays out cleanly.
Where It Fits
It suits analog CCTV and HD-over-coax (HD-TVI, HD-CVI, AHD) camera systems in offices, hotels, hospitals, schools, and retail with a return-air plenum above the ceiling, camera drops through a drop ceiling to the DVR or head-end room, surveillance expansions in commercial buildings where the existing DVR is coax, parking garage and loading dock cameras fed through a plenum ceiling from inside, and any commercial camera run where the camera is powered from the DVR end and the ceiling is an air-handling space.
Good to Know
Work out the power leg before the video leg. An 18 AWG pair loses about 6.5 ohms per 1000 ft round trip, so a 12 V DC camera drawing half an amp has lost more than a volt by 200 ft and may be flaky beyond that; for a longer run, use a 24 V AC camera, a 24 V camera with a local regulator, or a power supply closer to the camera. RG59 is a step below RG6 in loss, which is fine for the distances an indoor camera run usually covers, but for a 720p or 1080p HD-over-coax camera keep the run inside the DVR maker's RG59 distance rating, and use an RG6 plenum siamese for anything longer. Plenum cable is stiffer than PVC and the FEP dielectric doesn't like a tight bend, so give it a generous radius and pull from a spool on a stand rather than off the end of the reel. Plenum-rated cable is for the air-handling space, not for inside the ductwork itself, which the NEC doesn't allow for any communications cable. The jacket isn't UV stabilized or rated for burial, so where a camera is outside, keep the cable inside the wall or conduit and let only a short, sheltered tail reach the housing. If the ceiling isn't a plenum, the CM-rated siamese does the same job for a lot less. Split the two legs by slitting the web a few inches back at each end, then use compression BNC connectors sized for RG59 on the coax and a DC pigtail or terminal on the power pair.
