A hundred RG59 terminations is a camera system or a floor of CATV drops, and every one of them is a place for water to get in and a crimp to go wrong. This bag of 100 SealSmart nickel-plated F compression connectors is built so neither happens: a gasket molded into the connector seals the cable entry against the weather, and a captive center contact means one compression stroke finishes the termination, with no separate pin to lose or seat. The connector is universal for RG59, fitting standard and quad-shield cable alike, and the universal SealSmart compression tool terminates it along with the other two SealSmart connector sizes, so one tool on the belt covers the whole bag and the next bag of a different size. It's the F connector for CATV, surveillance camera runs, home theater coax, and residential structured wiring on RG59.

Features

  • Compression F connector for RG59. Universal fit for standard and quad-shield RG59 coax.
  • Molded-in gasket. A weather-tight seal at the cable entry, for outdoor and damp locations.
  • Single compression termination. Captive center contact; one stroke of the tool finishes the connector.
  • Universal tool. The SealSmart compression tool terminates all three SealSmart connector designs.
  • Nickel plated. Corrosion-resistant finish.
  • Bag of 100.

Where It Fits

It suits security installers terminating RG59 camera runs at the camera and the DVR, with the gasket doing the work at the outdoor end, CATV and satellite techs who carry RG59 for the short drops and the legacy plant, home theater and AV installs building coax patch cables to length, residential structured wiring jobs with RG59 to the bedrooms, anyone who has had a crimp-on F connector pull off a cable or a twist-on one let water in, and a job that already has the RG59 bulk coax, the compression tool, the coax stripper, and the F-81 couplers and keystone inserts from the coax collections. For the connectors' other end, the CONAP-1001COU inline coupler and the KEYCAE, KEYCAD, KEYCAA, and KEYCAB keystone inserts.

Good to Know

A compression connector is only as good as the prep: strip the cable to the connector's dimensions with a coax stripper, fold the braid back over the jacket, keep every strand of braid off the center conductor, and push the connector on until the dielectric is flush with the inside of the nut before compressing, since a connector that's compressed short will test fine and fail in the rain. Use the matching compression tool; a crimp tool or pliers will crush the body without seating it, and a tool for another maker's connector may not stroke to the right length. The gasket seals the cable entry; the front still needs to be snug on the port, so tighten the nut with a 7/16 in wrench, and outdoors add a weather boot or a drip loop at the camera. Standard and quad-shield RG59 take the same connector, but the quad-shield cable is thicker under the jacket, so it goes on harder; that's normal, and it's the universal design doing its job. Order the tool with the first bag if you don't have one, and keep a few spare connectors on the truck for the ones that get cut off in testing.
