This is a twist-on BNC male connector for RG59 coax, and it goes on by hand: strip the cable, fold the braid back, and turn the connector on until it seats. No compression tool, no crimper. It's the connector for putting a BNC on a camera, DVR, monitor, or test lead when there's no tool on the truck or the job is a quick repair. The body is nickel plated and the center pin is gold plated, so the contact stays clean on a connector that may come off and go back on more than once. It suits surveillance camera systems, audio and video runs, and test gear, and it's the practical choice at the top of a ladder or on a temporary hookup. For the same connector on RG6, the CONAR-1001TWI; for a compression F connector on RG59 that goes on for good, the CONBE-1001SEA SealSmart.

Features

  • BNC male, twist on. Threads onto prepared RG59 by hand; no crimp or compression tool.
  • For RG59 coax. Sized for the RG59 jacket and dielectric.
  • Gold-plated center pin. Conductivity and corrosion resistance at the contact.
  • Nickel-plated body.
  • Cable stripper recommended. For a clean, square prep before the connector goes on.

Where It Fits

It suits security installers and service techs putting a BNC on an RG59 camera or DVR run without a compression tool, CCTV repairs where a connector has corroded or pulled off and the picture needs to come back today, AV and broadcast benches making a quick BNC lead for a monitor or a test set, temporary camera setups at an event or a job site, DIY and small-business camera installs where one tool-free connector beats buying the tool, anyone who has stood on a ladder with a bare coax end and no connector, and a job that already has the RG59 bulk coax, the coax stripper, and the BNC inline couplers from the coax collections. For RG6 cable, the CONAR-1001TWI twist-on; for a permanent, weather-sealed BNC on RG6, the CONBA-1001SEA SealSmart compression connector; for joining two BNC ends, the CONAN-1001COU coupler.

Good to Know

A twist-on connector holds by threading into the jacket and the braid, so the prep decides everything: strip the jacket to the connector's length with a coax stripper, leave the braid folded back over the jacket so the threads bite into it, keep every strand of braid off the center conductor, and turn the connector on until the dielectric is seated and the center conductor stands proud as the pin. It has no seal, so it belongs indoors, inside the camera housing, or in a box; a twist-on at an outdoor camera with no housing is a connector that lets water into the braid. It can be taken off and put back on, which is what makes it the right one for a test lead or a temporary run, and also why a permanent install in a ceiling or a wall is better served by a compression connector. Seat the bayonet fully on the port: push until the pins drop into the slots, then turn until it clicks home. Twist-on connectors are matched to the cable size; this one is for RG59, and it won't thread onto the thicker RG6, which takes the CONAR-1001TWI.
