BNC Inline Coupler, Female to Female, RG59/RG6 (CONAN-1001COU)

A camera run that comes up six feet short, a BNC patch cable that needs to meet another one, or a DVR that's moved across the room: all of them need two male BNC ends joined without cutting and re-terminating anything. This inline coupler is a BNC female on both ends in one barrel, so two RG59 or RG6 cables with male BNC connectors twist and lock onto it and the run carries on, with the connection as secure as the bayonet on either cable. It's the extension piece for a CCTV camera feed, a monitor line, or any coax run that's terminated in BNC and needs more length.

Good to Know

Every coupler in a run is a joint, and a joint is a little loss and a place for water and corrosion to get in, so use one where it saves a re-pull, not three in a row where one longer cable would do; a run that's grown to several couplers is a run that's due for a single new cable. Push each BNC on until the bayonet pins seat in the slots, then turn it until it clicks home; a BNC that's pushed on but not turned will pass a picture for a while and then not. Keep the coupler out of the weather, or in a sealed box, since a barrel coupler has no seal of its own; outdoors, wrap it or put it inside the camera housing. For an SDI or other high-frequency digital feed, match the coupler's impedance to the cable and the gear, since a 50 Ω barrel in a 75 Ω video line passes analog CCTV without complaint and costs an HD-SDI link its margin. Support the cable on both sides so the coupler isn't carrying the weight or the bend.
