This 2U rack-mount fiber patch panel slides out instead: the master panel pulls forward on its slides to a built-in stop, so the splice trays and the back of the adapter panels are in front of you with the panel still bolted to the rack, and the two-piece top lifts off and the front door swings open on latches for access without a screwdriver. It takes up to six LGX adapter panels across the front, so a single 2U holds up to 72 LC duplex or 144 LC fiber connections depending on the panels you load, and inside it carries up to four 36-fiber splice trays for 144 spliced fibers, which makes it a patch-and-splice panel for a fiber entrance or a distribution point rather than a patch panel alone. Two cable management spools and the hardware for a standard 19 in rack are included; adapter panels and splice trays are sold separately so the panel is built to the job. Black finish.

The 144 figure is the splice capacity with four 36-fiber trays installed, and the trays are sold separately, as are the LGX adapter panels; the panel ships as an empty enclosure with spools and hardware, so order the trays and panels for the fiber count and connector type at the same time. Six LGX panels and four trays are both maximums, and a panel loaded to both is full of fiber, so route the slack on the spools and respect the bend radius of every buffer tube and pigtail, since a 2U panel that's packed is where macrobend loss shows up. Mount it on the rack rails with the included hardware and check that the slides run freely and the tray stop engages before you load fiber, because a panel that overextends with 144 fibers in it is an expensive mistake. Pull the panel out only as far as the stop, support the cable behind the rack so the entry doesn't take the weight when the panel moves, and strain-relieve the trunk at the rear entry so the splices never carry tension. The top comes off and the door latches open without tools, which also means they come off by accident in a crowded rack, so keep the latches closed when you're done. It's an indoor rack panel; an OSP entrance wants the cable grounded and the armor bonded before it reaches the panel. Keep connector caps on unused adapters, since an open LC port in a splice panel collects dust from every tray that's worked on above it.
