LC/PC Quad Fiber Adapter, OM3/OM4 Multimode, Aqua, Phosphor Bronze Sleeve, Flanged, SC Duplex Footprint (FO4-LCP-Q)

This is a quad LC/PC fiber adapter for 10 Gigabit multimode, the aqua coupler that puts four LC ports in the SC duplex footprint on an OM3 or OM4 plant. It's a plastic housing with integrated flanges and a snap-fit body, so it drops into the same cutout as a duplex SC adapter and doubles the port count in that space. Each port has a phosphor bronze alignment sleeve, which is the usual multimode sleeve, and the housing is aqua, which is the color code for laser-optimized 50/125 µm multimode, the fiber behind 10GBASE-SR, 40GBASE-SR4, and 100GBASE-SR4 links. It takes LC/PC multimode connectors. It comes with dust caps, it's RoHS compliant, and it's sold individually. Where It Fits

It suits a data center row where an OM3 or OM4 backbone has to come out at the highest LC count per cutout and every port should say 10 Gigabit by its color. It suits a loaded patch panel or a fiber distribution unit where the slots are SC duplex and the switches are LC, so each cutout goes from two ports to four without a new plate. Installers loading a custom LGX plate or a wall-mount enclosure on a 10 Gigabit plant use it, and so do techs converting an SC duplex panel to LC as the switches change. A SAN or a server row on OM4 with 40 Gigabit uplinks is a candidate. It goes with the OM3 and OM4 LC patch cords from the fiber patch cable collection, with the multimode LC pigtails, adapter plates, and keystones from the fiber panel collection, and with the rack-mount and wall-mount enclosures. Good to Know

Aqua is a label, not a filter: the adapter will mate whatever LC connector goes into it, including an orange 62.5 µm OM1 cord, with the core mismatch loss landing at the panel, so the color's job is to tell the next tech that the fiber behind these ports is OM3 or OM4 and the cord in front of them should be too. For an OM1 plant or a Gigabit plant on any grade, the beige FOM-LCP-Q is the honest choice, and beige is what an OM1 panel is expected to be. The sleeves are phosphor bronze, which is the usual multimode sleeve; for single-mode, the blue FOS-LC-D with its ceramic sleeve is the right adapter, since a 9 µm core needs a tighter sleeve than this one holds. It's PC, with a flat end-face, for the aqua or beige LC connector on every SFP+, QSFP breakout, and multimode cord; a green LC/APC connector has an 8° angle and doesn't mate with it. The adapter doesn't set the reach, the fiber does: OM3 carries 10GBASE-SR to 300 meters and OM4 to 400 meters, 40 and 100 Gigabit SR4 go 100 meters on OM3 and 150 on OM4, and each mated pair adds loss the budget has to carry, so keep the connectors clean. Four LC in an SC duplex cutout is a tight cluster, so plan the cord dressing before you load the panel, use cords with a flexible boot or a pull tab, and expect to unplug a neighbor to reach an inside port. Keep the A and B fibers of each pair in the right positions on both sides so the duplex polarity comes out as the as-built says; with four ports in one adapter, label which two make a pair. The snap-fit flanges are what hold it in a stamped cutout, so check that the panel takes a flanged SC duplex adapter before you order a quantity. Clean and inspect every ferrule before it goes in, and leave the dust caps in any port without a cord. Don't look into an open port on a live link. It usually ships in 1 to 2 business days.
