LC/UPC Quad Fiber Adapter, Multimode, Beige, Ceramic Sleeve, Flanged, SC Duplex Footprint (FOM-LCP-Q)

This is a quad LC/UPC fiber adapter for multimode, the beige coupler that puts four LC ports in the SC duplex footprint. It's a plastic housing with integrated flanges and a snap-fit body, so it drops into the same cutout as a duplex SC adapter and doubles the port count in that space. Each port has a ceramic alignment sleeve, with a typical insertion loss of 0.2 dB, and the housing is beige, which is the color code for multimode. It takes LC/UPC connectors on any multimode grade from OM1 to OM5. It comes with dust caps, it's RoHS compliant, and it's sold individually. Where It Fits

It suits a fiber distribution unit or a loaded patch panel where the slots are SC duplex and the switches are LC, so each cutout goes from two ports to four without a new plate. It suits a data center or a server rack where a multimode backbone has to come out at the highest LC count the enclosure allows. Installers loading a custom LGX plate or a wall-mount enclosure with LC ports use it, and so do techs converting an old SC duplex panel to LC as the switches change. A SAN or a campus distribution point on OM3 or OM4 is a candidate. It goes with the multimode LC patch cords from the fiber patch cable collection, with the LC pigtails and adapter plates from the fiber panel collection, and with the rack-mount and wall-mount enclosures. For a plate loaded with six of these, the FAP-MM-LC-6Q, or the aqua FAP-MM-LCG-6Q for a 10 Gigabit plant. Good to Know

The adapter doesn't care which multimode grade is on either side, which means it will happily mate an orange 62.5 µm OM1 cord to an aqua 50 µm OM3 pigtail, with the core mismatch loss landing at the adapter; keep the cords, the pigtails, and the plant all one grade, and let the jacket color be the cue. Beige is the multimode color, and the sleeves are ceramic, which also holds a single-mode ferrule to tolerance, but a mixed panel invites a wrong patch, so keep single-mode on blue adapters and multimode on beige. It's UPC, with a flat end-face, for the blue or beige LC/UPC connector on every SFP, SFP+, and multimode cord; a green LC/APC connector has an 8° angle and doesn't mate with it. Four LC in an SC duplex cutout is a tight cluster, so plan the cord dressing before you load the panel, use cords with a flexible boot or a pull tab, and expect to unplug a neighbor to reach an inside port. Keep the A and B fibers of each pair in the right positions on both sides so the duplex polarity comes out as the as-built says; with four ports in one adapter, label which two make a pair. Clean and inspect every ferrule before it goes in, and leave the dust caps in any port without a cord. Don't look into an open port on a live link.
