Usually ships within 1–3 business days. We ship as soon as possible, though times are not guaranteed, and your order goes out via the shipping service you select at checkout. Please note: patch cords longer than 15 meters may require additional lead time.

SC and LC are the two connectors you meet most in a single-mode network, and they don't plug into each other. SC is the larger push-pull connector on media converters, wall-mount enclosures, older switches, and a great many patch panels; LC is the small snap-in connector on SFP transceivers, new switches, and high-density panels. This cord has a pair of LC/UPC connectors on one end and a pair of SC/UPC on the other, so an SFP or LC panel can connect straight to an SC port or panel without a hybrid adapter in the middle.

It's OS2 single-mode fiber, 9/125 µm, in a duplex configuration for a transmit and receive pair, in lengths from 1 m to 100 m. Each cord is tested and the end-faces are checked by interferometer before it ships.

Features

  • LC/UPC to SC/UPC. Snap-in LC on one end, push-pull SC on the other, both blue flat-polished UPC.
  • OS2 single-mode, 9/125 µm. For 1310 and 1550 nm links, from a rack jumper to a campus or metro span.
  • Duplex. Two fibers for a matched transmit and receive pair, wired A-to-B.
  • Low insertion loss. 0.15 dB typical and 0.30 dB maximum per connector.
  • Return loss 50 dB or better, the standard UPC figure.
  • Ceramic ferrules, 1.25 mm on the LC end and 2.5 mm on the SC end, checked by 3D interferometry for end-face geometry.
  • Tool-free on both ends. The LC latches, the SC pushes in and pulls out; neither needs a twist.
  • UL Listed for the US and Canada, and RoHS compliant.
  • Eighteen lengths from 1 to 100 m.

Where It Fits

It suits connecting an SFP-equipped switch or router to an SC patch panel or enclosure, linking a media converter or older switch with SC ports to LC equipment, building-to-building links terminated on SC at one end and LC at the other, data center and campus cross-connects between mixed panel types, and any single-mode link between a blue LC port and a blue SC port, from a short rack jumper to a 100 m run across a building.

Good to Know

Both ends are UPC, so both of your ports need to be blue. If the SC side is a green SC/APC port, on an FTTH outlet, ONT, or PON gear for example, you want the LC/UPC to SC/APC cord instead, and if both ends are LC, the LC/UPC to LC/UPC cord. Keep dust caps on until the moment you plug in, and clean both the connector and the port with a one-click cleaner before mating, 1.25 mm for the LC end and 2.5 mm for the SC end; a fingerprint on a single-mode ferrule costs more than the whole cord's loss budget. Single-mode fiber doesn't care about length at these distances, so pick the length that fits with a little slack and no coil. For the longer lengths, keep the cord in a tray or off the floor, and if it has to be pulled through conduit, ask about a 3.0 mm jacket or an OFNR-rated cable.
