Fiber Termination Box, Wall Mount, 2 Fiber, SC/APC, IP45 Indoor (WMFP-003)

The last box on a fiber-to-the-home drop is the one at the subscriber's wall, where the provider's cable gets spliced to a pigtail and handed to the ONT, and it has to be small enough to go unnoticed and tidy enough to last. This indoor wall-mount fiber termination box is built for that spot: a low-profile white PC+ABS enclosure, under 4 in tall and under an inch deep, with a fixed splice tray for two fibers, integrated fiber management for the slack, and two SC/APC simplex adapters pre-loaded in the face. A 2 m single-mode SC/APC pigtail comes in the box, so the drop can be spliced and landed on an adapter without a second order, and the subscriber's patch cord plugs into the front. It's rated IP45 for indoor use, which keeps dust and splashed water off the splice in a basement, a garage, or a utility closet, and it's the standard 2-fiber FDU for FTTH, FTTB, and FTTC drops, CATV, and small LAN entrances.

Where It Fits
It suits FTTH and FTTP installers terminating a single-fiber or two-fiber drop at the subscriber's wall next to the ONT, GPON and XGS-PON plants that run SC/APC end to end, FTTB and MDU builds that put a small box in each unit, CATV operators bringing a fiber node drop into a building, small business and home office installs where the demarc has to be discreet, anyone who has left a drop spliced in a loose coil behind the ONT and had it fail, and a job that already has the SC/APC patch cords and the fusion splicer. For 12 fibers and eight adapters on the wall, the WMFP-014; for a rack-mount distribution point, the RMFP-015 and RMFP-019 slide-out panels.
Good to Know
Everything in this box is APC: the adapters are SC/APC and the pigtail is SC/APC, so the patch cord to the ONT has to be SC/APC too, since a UPC connector in an APC adapter damages both ferrules and reflects enough light to take down a PON link. One pigtail is included for a two-fiber box; a second drop fiber needs a second pigtail. IP45 is an indoor rating for dust and splashing water, not immersion or weather, so mount it inside, and if the drop comes from outdoors, bring it in through a drip loop and a sealed entry before it reaches the box. Mount the box with the cable entry down, strain-relieve the drop at the entry so the splice never carries tension, keep the fiber within its bend radius inside a box that's under an inch deep, and route the slack on the management path rather than coiling it tight. Splice the drop to the pigtail, protect the splice in a sleeve on the tray, and land the pigtail on the back of the adapter. Keep the cover on when you're done, since an open box collects dust on the ferrule, and keep a cap on the adapter without a cord in it. The cover and the plastic are impact resistant, not indestructible; mount it where it won't be kicked.
