Most of the HDMI cables in a house are doing 1080p from a cable box or a console to a TV a few feet away, and that job doesn't need a premium cable; it needs a sound one. This High Speed HDMI 1.4 cable with Ethernet is that: 10.2 Gbps throughput for 4K × 2K at 30 Hz and 1080p at 60 Hz and below, Deep Color up to 16 bits per channel, 3D, HDCP compliance, and the 100 Mb/s HDMI Ethernet channel, on a standard 19-pin Type A male-to-male cable with gold-plated contacts and ground connections. The conductors are stranded bare copper, 30 AWG at 3 to 15 ft and 28 AWG at 20 and 25 ft, with foam PE and high-density PE insulation, an aluminum Mylar inner shield, a bare copper braid outer shield, and drain wires inside a 7.3 mm black PVC jacket. Six lengths from 3 to 25 ft. For 4K at 60 Hz, the HDMI01 ATC certified HDMI 2.0 cable; for a plenum ceiling, the HDMI05. RoHS compliant.

Where It Fits

It suits anyone connecting a cable or satellite box, a Blu-ray or DVD player, a streaming stick, or a game console to a 1080p or 4K/30 TV, home theater owners running an A/V receiver to a display across the room at 25 ft, offices and classrooms putting a PC on a TV as a monitor with the audio over the same cable, integrators who need a box of sound HDMI cables in six lengths for the runs that don't need 18 Gbps, anyone replacing the cable that came in the box with the TV, and a job that already has the HDMI wall plates and keystone couplers from the AV collections. For 4K at 60 Hz and HDR, the HDMI01 ATC certified HDMI 2.0 cable; for a plenum ceiling run, the HDMI05; for 35 ft and beyond, the HDMOAOC02 and HDMOAOC03 fiber optic cables.

Good to Know

Ten gigabits is HDMI 1.4: it carries 4K at 30 Hz and 1080p at 60 Hz, and it does not carry 4K at 60 Hz or HDR, so a 4K/60 source on this cable will drop to 30 Hz or fall back to 1080p, and the HDMI01 is the right cable for that job. The HDMI Ethernet channel only works if both devices support it, and most don't use it; it does no harm either way. The 20 and 25 ft cables use the heavier 28 AWG conductor to hold the signal at the longer length; 25 ft is the longest in the line, and past that a fiber cable is the answer rather than a coupler and two of these. Don't bend it hard at the connector, and support a long run so the plug doesn't carry the cable's weight at the back of a wall-mounted TV. It's an indoor cable with a PVC jacket; in-wall and plenum runs want the HDMI05.
