CAT6A RJ45 ezEX44 Connector – Staggered Pass-Through with PoE+ (PLG-EZ45-C64-POE)

This is a pass-through RJ45 plug for Cat6 and Cat6A cable with larger conductors. It fits solid or stranded cable whose conductors are insulated to 0.041 to 0.044 in (1.0 to 1.12 mm), which is the thick 23 AWG Cat6A that won't feed through a standard EZ-RJ45 plug. The eight conductors go in the back of the plug and out the front, so you check the color order by eye before the crimp tool trims them flush and closes the contacts. The channels are staggered high and low, so the larger conductors each sit in their own slot. It's the ezEX44 design: one clear piece, no bars or liners, 8P8C, rated for 10 Gigabit performance and compliant with Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A, and it's PoE and PoE+ capable. Good to Know

A pass-through plug needs a pass-through crimp tool, the kind with a blade at the front of the die that shears the conductors flush with the plug face as it crimps. A standard RJ45 tool closes the contacts but leaves the ends sticking out, where they short against each other or the jack. Check the face after every crimp and make sure no copper stands proud. Measure the conductor, not just the jacket, before ordering: this plug is for insulation of 1.0 to 1.12 mm, and a conductor under 1.0 mm will sit loose in the staggered channels and wants the PLG-EZ45-C6U, while shielded Cat6A over 1.12 mm wants the PLG-R45-CT6AS. Strip the jacket, untwist only as much as it takes to lay the eight conductors flat in T568B order, feed them through the staggered channels until the jacket seats in the rear of the plug, confirm the order on the far side, then crimp. Staggered channels mean the conductors alternate high and low as they go in; if one won't start, it's in the wrong row, not too thick. The boot goes on the cable before the plug, not after. The housing has no shield shell, so this is for unshielded cable; shielded Cat6A needs a shielded plug so the drain wire has somewhere to go. On PoE+ runs, keep the bundle loose and don't unplug under load, since the arc on break lands on the contacts.
