Measure the cable before ordering: this plug is for conductors insulated to 0.64 to 0.70 mm and a jacket under 3.9 mm, which is slim 28 to 30 AWG cable, and a standard 23 or 24 AWG Cat6 conductor won't go into the channels. The 3-prong contact is the one that works on stranded conductors and on the small solid conductors of slim cable, which is why the plug takes both; a 2-prong plug is for solid only. Strip, untwist as little as possible, hold the T568B order, and look through the clear housing to check it before the tool closes, since the crimp can't be undone. Use a crimp tool with a standard RJ45 die; the plug's blades are standard height, so a tool that's right for ordinary plugs is right for this one. Slim cable is more flexible and less robust than standard cable, so support a cord that hangs, keep the bend radius generous at the plug, and expect a 28 AWG cord to be a patch cord, not a horizontal run: the length limit for 28 AWG under the TIA guidance is shorter than for 24 AWG, and PoE at full power warms a 28 AWG bundle more than a 24 AWG one, so keep slim cords short and unbundled where the loads are heavy. The housing is polycarbonate with no metal shell, so it's for unshielded cable; shielded slim cable needs a shielded plug.
