Shielded Cat6A cable is thick, its conductors are big, and the shield has to end somewhere that connects to the plug's shell, which is why an unshielded plug won't do. Good to Know

A shielded plug only shields if the shell is bonded to the cable's shield and the jack at the other end is shielded too, so fold the foil or braid back over the jacket where the shell's crimp tab lands, make sure the drain wire is under it, and use shielded jacks and patch panels throughout; one unshielded link in the chain turns the shield into an antenna. Measure the cable before ordering: 22 to 26 AWG conductors insulated to 1.05 to 1.15 mm and a jacket under 8.0 mm, which covers most shielded Cat6A, but a 23 AWG cable with thick insulation can run over 1.15 mm and won't seat. Strip, untwist as little as possible, hold the T568B order, and check it through the clear housing before the tool closes, since the crimp can't be undone. Use a crimp tool whose die closes the shield tab as well as the contacts; a plain RJ45 die leaves the shield loose. The boot goes on the cable before the plug, not after. Bond the shield at one end only unless the two ends share a ground, since a shield grounded at both ends in two buildings carries the ground difference as current. Keep the bend radius generous at the plug; shielded Cat6A is stiff and a sharp bend at a plug is where the foil tears.
