CAT6A CMR Riser Cable 1000ft - Shielded, 23AWG Solid Copper, UL Listed

This is the shielded Cat6A for permanent 10G runs: in walls, above non-plenum ceilings, and up through riser shafts between floors where the cable tray shares the route with power conduit, elevator machinery, or imaging equipment. Cat6A is the category that carries 10GBase-T over a full 100 m channel, and the overall aluminum foil with a tinned copper drain wire does two jobs at 10G: it blocks outside interference, and it stops the cable's own pairs from coupling into neighboring cables in a tight bundle, which is the limit that holds Cat6 back at 10G. It's UL Listed with the CMR riser rating printed on the jacket, so it passes inspection without a conversation.

The 23 AWG solid copper conductors have HDPE insulation for consistent pair geometry. It comes on a 1000 ft wooden spool with footage markings on the jacket.

Good to Know

A shield only works when it's grounded. Terminate this cable on shielded Cat6A jacks and patch panels, ground the drain wire at one end, normally the patch panel, and use shielded patch cords and switch ports so the shield is continuous end to end. CMR covers risers and general indoor spaces but not plenum air-handling ceilings; for those, use a shielded CMP cable. Cat6A is thicker and stiffer than Cat6; plan for a bend radius of about four times the cable diameter, and check that your cable managers and J-hooks have the room. Solid conductors are for permanent runs; terminate on jacks and patch panels, not crimped plugs. For patch cords in the rack, use factory shielded Cat6A cords or the shielded Cat6A stranded bulk.
