CAT6 CMR Riser Cable 1000ft - 23AWG Solid Copper UTP, UL Listed

This is the Cat6 for permanent runs: in walls, above non-plenum ceilings, and up through riser shafts between floors. It's UL Listed and c(UL)us certified, with the CMR riser rating printed on the jacket, so it passes inspection in the U.S. and Canada without a conversation. The 23 AWG solid copper conductors are a size up from Cat5e, which is where Cat6 gets its lower loss and its headroom for 2.5G and 5G links, and it's the cable most new commercial drops get pulled with.

It's Category 6 with HDPE-insulated bare copper conductors and a flame-retardant PVC jacket. It comes in a 1000 ft pull box with footage markings on the jacket.

Features

• CMR riser rated, UL Listed. Approved for riser runs between floors as well as general in-wall and ceiling use, and c(UL)us certified for Canada. It also carries a CL2R listing for Class 2 low-voltage circuits.
• 23 AWG solid bare copper. Heavier than Cat5e's 24 AWG, for lower resistance over a full 100 m channel and less voltage drop on PoE runs. No copper-clad aluminum.
• Gigabit and multi-gig rated. It runs 10/100/1000 Mbps, 2.5G, and 5G links over a full channel, and 10GBase-T over short runs.
• Unshielded (UTP). No shield means no grounding to worry about and the easiest cable to terminate.
• HDPE insulation. Tight, consistent pair twists for crosstalk control.
• Flame-retardant PVC jacket. RoHS compliant.
• Sequential footage markings. You can see what's left in the box and cut runs to length without a tape.
• 1000 ft pull box. The cable pays out from the center without twisting or tangling.
• Nine jacket colors. Standard TIA-568 pair colors inside.

Where It Fits

It suits horizontal runs from the closet to the desk in offices and commercial buildings, riser runs between floors, multi-story residential wiring, Wi-Fi 6 access points and PoE cameras, VoIP and workstation drops where the spec calls for Cat6, and any permanent multi-gig link in a normal indoor environment.

Good to Know

CMR covers risers and general indoor spaces but not plenum air-handling ceilings; for those, use the CMP plenum version of this cable. Cat6 carries 10G over short distances only; for 10G on a full channel, use Cat6A. Use Cat6-rated jacks and patch panels, since the 23 AWG conductor won't seat properly in Cat5e hardware. For runs beside motors, drives, or power distribution, use a shielded cable. Solid conductors are for permanent runs; terminate on jacks and patch panels, not crimped plugs.
