CAT6 Outdoor CMX Cable 1000ft - 23AWG Solid Copper UTP, UL Listed

This is the plain outdoor Cat6 for runs that see weather but not dirt: along an exterior wall to a camera, up to a rooftop access point, through conduit between buildings, or across a covered walkway. The UV-resistant jacket takes sun, rain, and snow without cracking or chalking, and it's CMX rated for outdoor use, UL Listed, and ETL Verified to the Cat6 standard. For most exterior camera and access point drops that need multi-gig headroom, this is all the cable the job needs.

Underneath are 23 AWG solid bare copper conductors with HDPE insulation, a size up from Cat5e, which is where Cat6 gets its lower loss and its headroom for 2.5G and 5G links, across a -30 °C to 60 °C range. It comes in 1000 ft lengths with footage markings on the jacket.

• Gigabit and multi-gig rated. It runs 10/100/1000 Mbps, 2.5G, and 5G links over a full channel, and 10GBase-T over short runs.
• Unshielded (UTP). No shield means no drain wire to ground and the simplest termination.
• HDPE insulation. Moisture-resistant, with tight pair twists for crosstalk control.
• -30 °C to 60 °C operating range. It covers year-round weather anywhere in the country.
• Sequential footage markings. Measure runs and track what's left.
• 1000 ft wooden spool. Standard TIA-568 pair colors inside for easy termination. RoHS compliant.

Where It Fits

It suits exterior security cameras and access points, rooftop antennas and equipment, runs in conduit between buildings, exposed runs along eaves and walls, parking lot and perimeter surveillance where the cable is surface-mounted or in conduit, and outdoor PoE lighting and gate controls.

Good to Know

This cable isn't rated for direct burial; if it goes underground, put it in conduit, or use one of the burial-rated cables. For an aerial span between poles or buildings, use the messenger cable, which carries its own support wire. Outdoor cable brings lightning and surge risk into the building with it, so put a gas-discharge Ethernet surge protector at each entry point, bonded to the building ground. CMX cable is limited to 50 feet inside a building by the NEC, so transition to CM, CMR, or CMP cable at the entry, or use the CMR/CMX indoor/outdoor cable for a run that needs to go straight to the closet. Cat6 carries 10G over short distances only; for 10G on a full channel, use Cat6A. In freezing weather, PVC stiffens; below about -10 °C, warm the spool before pulling. Solid conductors are for permanent runs; terminate on jacks and patch panels, not crimped plugs.
