Cat6 Shielded Bulkhead Coupler, IP67 with Dust Cap (COU6-OUT)

An Ethernet connection on the outside of an enclosure, a machine, or a building needs a jack that seals to the panel and seals to the plug, and an ordinary keystone coupler does neither. This Cat6 industrial bulkhead coupler is built for that spot: a shielded female-to-female RJ45 that mounts flush through a wall plate or panel and seals against water, dust, and contaminants to IP67, dust-tight and protected against immersion. The plug side takes a capped IP67 patch cord, and when nothing is plugged in, the dust cap on its chain closes the port and keeps the rating. The shielded case is nickel-plated brass for EMI protection, the body is glass-filled PBT and the housing ABS, both UL94V-0, and the contacts are phosphor bronze with 50 microinches of gold, rated for 750 mating cycles and an 11 lb minimum plug retention so a cord can't shake loose. It's rated from −10 to 60 °C in operation and stores to −40 °C, it's RoHS compliant, and it's the panel half of the sealed connection the CAP-IP67 cable cap makes on the cord.
Features
- IP67 rated. Dust-tight and waterproof, for outdoor, wet, and industrial installations.
- Shielded Cat6, female to female. Extends or passes a shielded Cat6 run through a panel with EMI and crosstalk protection.
- Flush-mount bulkhead. Mounts through an outdoor industrial wall plate or an enclosure wall.
- Dust cap on a chain. Closes the port and keeps the seal when no cord is plugged in.
- Gold-plated contacts. Phosphor bronze with 50 µin gold, 750 mating cycles minimum, 100 g contact force.
- 11 lb plug retention. A plugged cord stays plugged under vibration and pull.
- UL94V-0 materials. PBT+GF body, ABS housing, nickel-plated brass shield case.
- RoHS compliant.
Where It Fits
It suits plant and facilities technicians bringing Ethernet out of a control cabinet to a machine, a PLC, or an HMI on the floor, warehouse and logistics installers putting a sealed port on a wall for scanners, printers, and access points in a wash-down area, outdoor and campus networks feeding cameras, wireless bridges, and gate controllers from a pedestal or an enclosure, marine, agricultural, and food-processing sites where the port gets hosed down, kiosk, signage, and EV charger builds that need a serviceable port on the outside of the box, anyone who has drilled a hole in an enclosure for a cable gland and wished for a jack instead, and a job that already has the CAP-IP67 cable cap for the cord end and the outdoor industrial wall plates the coupler mounts in. The shielded Cat6 patch cords it joins are in the copper patch cord collection, and the outdoor and direct-burial cable for the run is in the bulk copper collection.
Good to Know
The seal is only as good as the assembly: the coupler seals to the panel through its gasket when it's mounted flush and tightened, and seals to the cord only when a capped IP67 plug, such as one fitted with the CAP-IP67, is screwed down onto it, or the dust cap is on. A bare plug pushed into the port leaves it open, and a cap on a plug that isn't screwed home does the same. Mount it in a plate or a panel cut for it, with the gasket seated and the surface clean, and tighten by hand until the gasket compresses, since over-tightening a glass-filled nylon part cracks it. IP67 means dust-tight and protected against immersion to a meter for half an hour; it's a rating for rain, wash-down, and a puddle, not for a port that lives underwater. It's shielded, so bond the shield: the brass case carries the cable shield through, and the channel needs grounding at one end for that to do anything. The operating range starts at −10 °C, which is worth checking against the winter where it's going; storage runs to −40 °C but the seal is only rated in use above −10. Keep the dust cap on the chain and on the port whenever the cord is out, and check the gasket when you check the cable. A coupler is a connection in the channel; count it against the four-connection budget on a long run.
