CAT6 Data Network Termination Tool Kit
Couldn't load pickup availability
This is everything a Cat6 termination job needs in one lockable case: a stripper to open the jacket, a ratcheting crimper for the plugs, a tester to prove the cable before it goes live, fifty Easy-Feed Cat6 RJ45 plugs, and fifty boots to finish them. The plugs are the pass-through kind, where the conductors slide through the plug body and line up on their own, so the crimper's single cycle seats and trims all eight at once, and the tester reads the result for continuity, shorts, opens, miswires, and split pairs before you call the drop done. It works on any Cat6 cable, CM, CMR, or CMP, solid or stranded, and the case keeps the lot together in the van and on the ladder.
What's in the Kit
- Adjustable cable stripper and cutter. Spring-loaded, self-adjusting jaws score and strip the jacket on Cat6 bulk cable without nicking the pairs, and a large finger loop lets you spin the tool around the cable for a clean, even cut.
- Ratcheting crimp tool. Precision ratcheting dies seat Easy-Feed RJ45 plugs on solid or stranded 23 to 26 AWG conductors and trim the pass-through ends in the same cycle; the ratchet holds until the crimp is complete. Built-in cutter and stripper, and textured rubber grips for a day of terminations.
- Network cable tester. Main and remote units check UTP and STP Cat6 for continuity, shorts, opens, miswires, and split pairs, with wiring maps for T568A and T568B, 10BASE-T, and Token Ring, and a debug mode that steps through the pairs to pinpoint a fault.
- Fifty Cat6 Easy-Feed RJ45 plugs. Slide-through design aligns all eight conductors at once for a stagger-free termination, with gold-plated three-prong contacts for a reliable bite on the conductor.
- Fifty slip-on strain relief boots. Snagless boots that take the pull off the plug's latch, protect the crimp from flexing, and slide through racks and wall plates without catching.
- Lockable carrying case. Heavy-duty plastic with two locks, so the tools stay organized and the plugs stay in the box between jobs.
Where It Fits
It suits an installer setting up for Cat6 work who wants the tools and the first fifty plugs in one purchase, IT staff who terminate the occasional drop and need a kit that's complete when they open it, small-office and home-network builds on Cat6 bulk cable, maintenance kits for a building or a campus, and training and apprentice sets where every piece of the termination workflow should be in the same case.
Good to Know
The crimper and the plugs are a matched pass-through system: feed the conductors through the plug in T568B order, pull them snug so the jacket sits inside the strain relief, check the colors through the clear body, and crimp; the tool trims the ends flush as it closes. Check that the plug face is flush after each crimp, since a conductor left proud can short in the jack. Use the plugs on the cable they're sized for, 23 to 26 AWG, which covers Cat6 and Cat5e; large-diameter Cat6A and shielded plugs with a metal strain relief need their own plugs and crimper. Slide the boot onto the cable before you crimp the plug, not after; it's the step everyone forgets once. The tester proves the wiring, not the bandwidth: a pass means the pairs are connected and in the right order, which is what the field needs, and a certifier is the tool for a performance guarantee. Test with the remote at the far end and read both units; on a split pair the map will look right and the debug mode is what catches it. Keep the stripper's blade depth set for the cable in hand, and score and flex on a thick jacket rather than forcing the cut.
