CAT5E Shielded Ethernet Patch Cable - F/UTP

Sometimes the problem isn't speed, it's noise. A camera on a pole next to a motor, an access point above fluorescent ballasts, a switch sharing an enclosure with a VFD: those links drop packets on plain UTP. This cord wraps all four pairs in an overall foil shield (F/UTP), bonded to shielded metal RJ45 plugs at both ends, so interference stays outside the cable.

The 26 AWG stranded copper conductors make it a bit slimmer than a standard 24 AWG cord, at 6.0 mm. It is rated for Gigabit Ethernet and meets Category 5e, and it works with all Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A equipment.

• F/UTP overall foil shield. It blocks EMI and RFI from power equipment, motors, lighting, and PoE injectors.
• Shielded RJ45 plugs. The metal plug housing carries the shield through to a grounded jack. Contacts are gold-plated for corrosion resistance.

• 26 AWG stranded bare copper. It contains no copper-clad aluminum, and the stranding keeps it flexible.

• Flexible PVC jacket. The cable is RoHS compliant.
• T568B wiring. It comes in 0.5 to 100 ft lengths and eight colors for color-coding your network.

Where It Fits

It suits industrial and manufacturing floors, camera and access point runs near electrical equipment, server racks beside UPS and power distribution gear, medical and lab equipment rooms, and any Gigabit link where plain UTP has been flaky.

Good to Know

A shield only works when it's grounded. Plug this cord into shielded jacks, patch panels, or switch ports so the foil has a path to ground; on an unshielded port it still works as a normal cable but you lose the shielding benefit. Cat5e is a Gigabit cable; if the link needs 10G in a noisy spot, use the shielded Cat6A cord.
