CAT5e CMR Riser Cable 1000ft - UL Listed, 24AWG Shielded Solid Copper

This is the shielded Cat5e for permanent runs: in walls, above ceilings, and up through riser shafts between floors. The solid bare copper conductors are what punch-down jacks and patch panels are built to hold, and the CMR riser rating means it can run vertically floor to floor without a conduit. An overall aluminum foil wraps all four pairs, with a drain wire for grounding, so links near power distribution, lighting ballasts, and machinery stay clean.

It's Category 5e, rated for Gigabit Ethernet, with HDPE-insulated 24 AWG conductors, a rip cord for easy jacket stripping, and footage markings on the jacket. It comes in a 1000 ft pull box.

Features

• F/UTP overall foil shield. It blocks EMI and RFI from power equipment, motors, and lighting, and keeps the cable's own signal from radiating out.
• Drain wire. It gives the foil a path to ground at the patch panel.
• 24 AWG solid bare copper. Full-gauge solid conductors for the lowest loss over a full 100 m channel, and no copper-clad aluminum.

• CMR-rated PVC jacket, UL Listed. Approved for riser runs between floors as well as general in-wall and ceiling use.
• HDPE insulation. Tight, consistent pair twists for crosstalk control.
• Rip cord. Strip the jacket without nicking the foil or the conductors.
• Sequential footage markings. You can see what's left in the box and cut runs to length without a tape.
• 1000 ft pull box. The cable pays out from the center without twisting or tangling.
• Seven jacket colors. Standard TIA-568 pair colors inside for easy termination.

Good to Know

A shield only works when it's grounded. Terminate this cable on shielded jacks and patch panels, ground the drain wire at one end, normally the patch panel, and use shielded patch cords and switch ports so the shield is continuous end to end. Solid conductors are for permanent runs; for patch cords or anything that flexes, use the stranded version of this cable. CMR covers risers and general indoor spaces but not plenum air-handling ceilings; use CMP there.
