The big power supplies in a rack, the ones in a 2U server with redundant 1200 W supplies, a core switch, a storage array, or a UPS, have a C20 inlet instead of a C14, and the C13 cord that feeds everything else won't go in. This C19 to C20 power cord is the one that does: 14/3 SJT, rated 15 A at 125 V AC for 1875 W, with a C20 male plug for the C19 outlet on the PDU or the UPS and a C19 female connector for the equipment's C20 inlet. The 14 AWG conductors carry a full 15 A load without the voltage drop or the heat of a lighter cord, and the 2, 6, and 10 ft lengths cover a jumper to the PDU in the same rack, a run to a UPS below, or a reach across to the next cabinet. Good to Know

This cord goes between a PDU or a UPS and a piece of equipment, not into a wall: a C20 plug fits a C19 outlet, which is found on a rack PDU or a UPS, and nothing on a wall. The C19 and C20 are the high-current cousins of the C13 and C14, used on supplies that draw more than a C13 cord's 13 A, and the two families don't mix, so a C20 inlet needs this cord and a C14 inlet needs a C13 cord. The cord is rated 15 A at 125 V, which is the full capacity of a 15 A circuit; a PDU's C19 outlets are usually on a 20 A or 30 A feed, so the load on this cord is set by the equipment's nameplate, not by the outlet, and a supply rated over 15 A wants a heavier cord. SJT is a 300 V thermoplastic jacket rated for indoor junior hard service; it's for the inside of a rack, not for outdoors or for being walked on. A 14 AWG cord is stiff compared to the 18 AWG jumpers, so give it room to bend behind the chassis and pick the length that reaches with a gentle loop, since a 2 ft cord stretched tight between a PDU and a server will pull out of the inlet when the server slides forward on its rails. Seat both ends fully; a C19 that's half seated on a 15 A load runs warm.
