A monitor, a small switch, or a desktop in a rack doesn't need a 13 A jumper to reach the PDU; it needs a cord that's the right length and out of the way. This C13 to C14 power cord is the light one for that: 18/3 SVT, rated 10 A at 125 V AC for 1250 W, with a C14 male plug for the PDU, the UPS, or the end of a C13 extension and a C13 female connector for the equipment, in 1, 3, 6, and 10 ft. It's thin and flexible enough to dress along a rack rail or behind a desk, it extends a standard computer cord that comes up short, and it's the cord that turns a PDU outlet into a port for a PC, a monitor, or a laser printer. This cord goes between two pieces of equipment, not into the wall: a C14 plug fits a C13 outlet on a PDU, a UPS, or an extension cord, and a NEMA 5-15P to C13 cord is what plugs into a wall receptacle. Ten amps is the cord's limit, and it's enough for a monitor, a desktop, a small switch, or a printer; a server or a storage array with a 13 A nameplate wants the 16 AWG PWRAO on the same connectors, and the two look alike, so check the jacket print before a heavy load goes on an 18 AWG cord. SVT is a 300 V thermoplastic jacket for indoor light-duty service; it's for the inside of a rack, a desk, or an office, not for outdoors or for being walked on. Pick the length that reaches with a gentle loop and no more, since a 1 ft cord stretched tight between a PDU and a chassis will pull out of the inlet when the equipment slides forward on its rails. Plug both ends in fully; a C13 that's half seated runs warm.
