C13 to C14 Power Cord, 14/3 SJT, 15 A 125 V, Black, 1 to 10 ft (PWRAN)

A server with a 15 A nameplate on a C14 inlet is at the top of what a C13 cord can feed, and it wants the heaviest one: 14/3 SJT, rated 15 A at 125 V AC for 1875 W, with a C14 male plug for the PDU's, the UPS's, or an extension's C13 outlet and a C13 female connector for the equipment. The 14 AWG conductors carry the full load without the voltage drop or the heat of the 16 and 18 AWG jumpers that feed the lighter gear, which is what a rack server, a storage array, an enterprise switch, or a high-wattage printer or plotter wants from the PDU, and six lengths from 1 to 10 ft let the cord be the length the run needs, from a jumper to the strip in the same rack to a reach into the next cabinet. Good to Know

This cord goes between a PDU or a UPS and a piece of equipment, not into a wall: a C14 plug fits a C13 outlet and nothing on a wall. Fifteen amps is the most a C13 and C14 pair is rated to carry on a UL-rated PDU, so this is the heaviest C13 cord there is; a supply that needs more has a C20 inlet and wants the PWRAR or PWRAQ. The three C13 to C14 cords in the line look alike and differ by gauge, 18, 16, and 14 AWG for 10, 13, and 15 A, so check the jacket print before a heavy load goes on a jumper pulled from the bin, and match the cord to the equipment's nameplate rather than to the outlet. SJT is a 300 V thermoplastic jacket rated for indoor junior hard service; it's for the inside of a rack, a desk, or an office, not for outdoors or for being walked on. A 14 AWG cord is stiff compared to the 18 AWG jumpers, so give it room to bend behind the chassis and pick the length that reaches with a gentle loop, since a 1 ft cord stretched tight between a PDU and a server will pull out of the inlet when the server slides forward on its rails. Seat both ends fully; a C13 that's half seated on a 15 A load runs warm.
