6-Fiber LGX Adapter Panel, 6 Simplex SC Multimode OM1–OM4 (FAP-MM-SC-6S)

This is a 6-fiber LGX adapter panel loaded with six simplex SC multimode adapters, for any multimode grade from OM1 to OM4. It's a cold-rolled steel plate, 130 by 30 mm, which is the single-width LGX footprint, with the six couplers mounted vertically through it on their plastic flanges. Each adapter has phosphor bronze alignment sleeves and a PC polish, and the SC connectors on the pigtails plug into the back while the patch cords plug into the front, so one plate turns a spliced 6-fiber multimode cable, or half of a 12-fiber one, into 6 SC ports. It's the general multimode SC plate, for a 62.5 µm OM1 plant or a 50 µm one that isn't being held to a 10 Gigabit spec, and for a panel where each fiber is patched on its own rather than as a pair. It drops into any LGX slot: the RMFP rack-mount splice-and-patch panels, the RMFP-001 patch-only panel, and any other LGX enclosure. It's sold individually. Where It Fits

It suits a campus or a building on 62.5 µm OM1 or older 50 µm multimode, where a 6-fiber cable is spliced to SC pigtails in the tray behind an LGX panel and the switches patch at Gigabit. It suits a telecom room where the circuits are single fibers, such as a handful of simplex monitoring runs or a bidirectional single-fiber link, and a duplex coupler would pair ports that don't belong together. Installers filling one LGX slot on a mixed-grade multimode plant use it, and so do techs replacing a damaged SC plate in an existing enclosure without caring which grade it was. A wall-mount box with a single LGX cutout on a Gigabit multimode plant is a candidate. It goes with the multimode bulk fiber, the SC pigtails, the splice trays, and the SC patch cords from the fiber collections, and with the LGX enclosures from the fiber panel collection. Good to Know

Match the fiber on both sides: the plate takes any multimode grade, which means the adapters will happily mate an orange 62.5 µm OM1 cord to an aqua 50 µm OM3 pigtail, with the core mismatch loss landing at the panel; keep the pigtails, the cords, and the plant all one grade, and let the jacket color be the cue. For an OM3 or OM4 plant that has to meet a 10 Gigabit spec, the aqua FAP-MM-SCG-6DF is the plate the as-built should show, since its color says what's behind it; this one is the right choice for OM1 and for a Gigabit plant on any grade. The sleeves are phosphor bronze, which is the usual multimode sleeve; for single-mode, the FAP-SM-SC-6S with its ceramic sleeves is the right plate. Simplex or duplex is the choice between this plate and the FAP-MM-SC1-3D: both carry 6 fibers in one slot, but a duplex coupler holds a transmit-and-receive pair side by side and keeps polarity for you, which is what most two-fiber Ethernet links want, while a simplex plate suits single-fiber circuits or a panel where the pairing changes; if two ports make a pair here, label them. Check the LGX slot before you order: 130 by 30 mm is the standard single-width cutout, and this plate is the same footprint as the Corning CCH-CP06-56, CCH-CP06-91, CCH-CP06-G6, and CCH-CP06-G7, so it fits enclosures built to that pattern; any slot left empty takes the FAP-BLANK blanking plate. The adapters are vertical, so the cords stand up and down and the panel's cable management has to clear them. Plug the pigtails into the back before you mount the plate, since there's more room with the plate in your hand, and keep a dust cap in any adapter without a cord in it. Clean and inspect every connector before it goes into an adapter, and label the plate's ports by fiber number so the tray and the panel agree.
