This Cat6 F/UTP shielded patch cable is specifically designed for environments where electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI) could degrade network performance. The F/UTP foil shielding creates a protective barrier around the entire cable assembly, blocking external interference from sources like power cables, motors, fluorescent lighting, wireless devices, and PoE equipment.
10 Gigabit Ethernet Performance: This cable supports 10GBase-T (10 Gbps) for runs up to 55 meters, making it ideal for short-run 10 Gigabit connections in data centers and server rooms. For longer runs up to 100 meters, it reliably supports 5GBase-T (5 Gbps) and all lower speeds.
When to Choose Shielded vs. Unshielded:
- Shielded (this cable): Best for electrically noisy environments, PoE installations, industrial settings, data centers, or anywhere interference could impact performance.
- Unshielded: Suitable for typical office environments with low electrical interference.
Important: For optimal shielding effectiveness, ensure that both connected devices (switches, routers, etc.) have shielded RJ-45 ports. The shielding must have a continuous ground path from end to end. If connecting to unshielded equipment, the cable will still function but shielding benefits may be reduced.
