Some equipment has a power inlet with a small ridge across it, and an ordinary C13 cord won't go in; that inlet is a C16, it's there because the power supply runs hot, and the cord it takes is this one. The C15 is the C13 with a notch cut in it: it fits a C16 inlet, which is the one with the ridge and is used on equipment whose power supply runs hot, and it also fits an ordinary C14 inlet, so this cord replaces a 5-15P to C13 cord anywhere and a C13 cord replaces it nowhere. A 15 A, 1875 W rating is the full capacity of a standard 15 A branch circuit, so a cord this size on a shared office circuit is fine for one server or workstation and not for several at once; the circuit, not the cord, is the limit. SJT is a 300 V thermoplastic jacket rated for indoor junior hard service; it's for an office, a rack, or a studio, not for outdoors or for being walked on. The 5-15P plug is the standard grounded North American plug, so there's no adapter; route the cord so the plug seats fully in the receptacle and the C15 seats fully in the inlet, since a half-seated connector on a 15 A load runs warm.
