This 14 AWG computer power cord is the heaviest 5-15P to C13 cord in the line: a NEMA 5-15P three-prong wall plug to an IEC-320 C13 connector on 14/3 SJT, rated 15 A at 125 V AC for 1875 W, with a 41-strand copper conductor and a 9.4 mm junior hard service jacket. It carries a full 15 A circuit's worth of load with the least voltage drop and heat of any C13 cord, it's listed by UL and CSA at the plug and at the cord, and it fits the computers, monitors, printers, projectors, and HDTVs that take a C13 from a standard North American receptacle, in five lengths from 1 to 25 ft. Fifteen amps and 1875 W is the whole of a standard 15 A branch circuit, so a workstation or a printer pulling near that should have the receptacle to itself, and the circuit, not the cord, is the limit; a C13 and C14 pair is rated 15 A, so this is the most a C13 cord can carry, and a supply that needs more has a C20 inlet and wants the PWRAM. The gain over the 18 and 16 AWG cords at a lighter load is lower voltage drop and less heat, which matters most at 25 ft; at 3 ft on a monitor it's more cord than the job needs. SJT is a 300 V thermoplastic jacket rated for indoor junior hard service; it's for a desk, an office, or a rack, not for outdoors or for being walked on. At 9.4 mm this is a thick, stiff cord, so give it room to bend behind the equipment and don't force it into a tight wall box. Seat the plug fully in the receptacle and the C13 fully in the inlet, since a half-seated connector on a 15 A load runs warm, and pick the length that reaches with a gentle loop and no more.
