A server with a C20 inlet in a branch office, a lab, or a test bench doesn't have a PDU with C19 outlets to plug into; it has a wall. This power cord runs from a NEMA 5-15P three-prong wall plug to a C19 connector on 14/3 SJT rated 15 A at 125 V AC for 1875 W, so a storage array, a high-wattage switch, or a server with redundant supplies can take its power from a standard 15 A receptacle with no PDU in between. The 14 AWG conductors carry the full 15 A a wall circuit can give without the voltage drop or the heat of a lighter cord, and the 3, 6, and 10 ft lengths cover a rack beside the outlet, a shelf across the room, or a bench. Good to Know

The C19 end fits a C20 inlet, which is a 20 A connector, but the 5-15P end fits a 15 A receptacle, so 15 A at 125 V is the most this cord can deliver and the equipment's nameplate has to be at or under it; a supply that needs 20 A wants a 5-20P plug and a 20 A receptacle, which is a different cord. A server pulling anywhere near 15 A should have the receptacle to itself, since 1875 W is the whole circuit, and a second server on the same circuit will trip the breaker. Two of these cords on a redundant-supply server only give real redundancy if the two receptacles are on different circuits. SJT is a 300 V thermoplastic jacket rated for indoor junior hard service; it's for an office, a lab, or a rack, not for outdoors or for being walked on. A 14 AWG cord is stiff, so give it room to bend behind the chassis, route it so the plug seats fully in the receptacle and the C19 seats fully in the inlet, and pick the length that reaches with a gentle loop; a connector that's half seated on a 15 A load runs warm.
