4-Port Surface Mount Box - Blank Universal | White (SMB005-4PWHI)
Couldn't load pickup availability
This is a blank 4-port surface mount box in white. It takes any standard keystone jack, so you load it with the mix the location needs, from one jack to four, in any combination of Ethernet, phone, coax, HDMI, USB, or fiber. It mounts on the wall surface with the screws, zip ties, or double-sided adhesive strips in the box, so there's no cutting into drywall or finding a stud, and the cable comes in through the back or the side and stays tidy inside. It's sold as a bare box with the mounting hardware; the jacks are separate. For the jacks, the KEY6-90 and MIG6A-90 for unshielded Cat6 and Cat6A, the KEY6-SHD and MIG6A-SHD for shielded, and the KEYCAA F-81 coupler for coax.

Where It Fits
It suits home offices and workstations where the Ethernet arrives at a wall with no box behind it, conference rooms that need data, HDMI, and USB at the table leg or the credenza, structured cabling crews finishing runs in a building with block or concrete walls where a flush box isn't an option, AV installers putting a connection point behind a display or under a counter, anyone adding ports to a finished room without opening the drywall, and a job that already has the bulk cable, the keystone jacks, and the punch-down tool from the copper collections. For the jacks, the KEY6-90, MIG6A-90, KEY6-SHD, MIG6A-SHD, KEY5E-SHD, and CAT8SH-KEY for data, and the KEYCAA, KEYCAB, KEYCAD, and KEYCAE for coax.
Good to Know
Pick the mounting method by the surface and the pull: screws into a stud, a block wall with anchors, or furniture hold best and are the right choice anywhere a cord will be yanked; the adhesive strips are for a clean painted or laminate surface and a box that won't be stressed, and they want a wipe with alcohol and firm pressure before the cable goes in; the zip ties are for a post, a pipe, a rack upright, or a desk leg. Terminate the jacks before you snap them into the box, since there's more room to work with the jack in your hand, and leave enough slack in the wall or the tray to pull the box off and re-terminate later. A keystone box takes any brand's standard keystone, but shielded jacks only shield if the cable's shield is bonded at the jack and the far end, so a shielded jack in a plastic box still needs its drain wire landed. Put a blank insert in any port you don't use, since an open keystone hole collects dust and invites a finger. Mind the cable's bend radius inside the box; four Cat6A cables in a small enclosure want a gentle loop, not a fold, and if the run is shielded or the cable is stiff, consider a box with fewer ports or two boxes side by side.
