6-Fiber LGX Adapter Panel, 3 Duplex SC/UPC Single-Mode (FAP-SM-SC-3D)
Couldn't load pickup availability
This is a 6-fiber LGX adapter panel loaded with three duplex SC/UPC single-mode adapters. It's a 1.6 mm cold-rolled steel plate, 130 by 30 mm, which is the single-width LGX footprint, with the three couplers mounted horizontally through it on their plastic flanges. Each adapter has ceramic alignment sleeves and the blue housing that marks UPC, and the SC connectors on the pigtails plug into the back while the patch cords plug into the front, so one plate turns a spliced 6-fiber cable, or half of a 12-fiber one, into 6 SC ports paired for three two-fiber links. It's the plate for a small single-mode SC entry, such as a drop point, a small office, or a residential fiber box, where three duplex circuits is the count. It drops into any LGX slot: the RMFP rack-mount splice-and-patch panels, the RMFP-001 patch-only panel, and any other LGX enclosure. It's sold individually. For 12 SC/UPC ports on one plate, the FAP-SM-SC-6D; for 6 SC/UPC ports on simplex adapters, the FAP-SM-SC-6S; for an APC plant, the FAP-SM-SCA-3D; for the SC pigtails that plug into the back, the 6-fiber PGTSC6-SM and the 12-fiber PGUSC12-SM and PGTSC12-SM; for the cords on the front, the SCSCSM, and for SC to an LC switch port, the LCSCSM; for the enclosures, the RMFP-015, RMFP-016, RMFP-018, and RMFP-001.
Features
- Three duplex SC/UPC adapters, 6 fibers. Single-mode, blue housings, ceramic alignment sleeves.
- LGX footprint. 130 × 30 mm single-width plate; fits standard LGX panels and enclosures.
- Cold-rolled steel, 1.6 mm.
- Horizontal couplers on flanges. Each adapter clips through the plate on its own plastic flanges.
- Sold individually.
Where It Fits
It suits a small single-mode entry, such as a 6-fiber drop into a building, a tenant space, or a home, where the cable is spliced to SC pigtails in the tray behind an LGX panel and comes out as three duplex SC ports for the switch or the media converters. It suits a drop point or a small office closet with a 1U or wall-mount enclosure and one slot to fill. Installers building out a low-count single-mode site on SC use it, and so do techs who want a duplex plate so each circuit's pair stays together without labels. A camera backbone or a building-to-building link on a 6-fiber cable is a candidate. It goes with the single-mode bulk fiber, the SC pigtails, the splice trays, and the SC patch cords from the fiber collections, and with the LGX enclosures from the fiber panel collection. For a 1U splice-and-patch panel, the RMFP-015. For 2U, the RMFP-016, and for 4U, the RMFP-018. For a patch-only 1U, the RMFP-001. For 12 SC ports on one plate, the FAP-SM-SC-6D. For 6 simplex SC ports, the FAP-SM-SC-6S. For an APC plant, the FAP-SM-SCA-3D. For the pigtails, the 6-fiber PGTSC6-SM or the 12-fiber PGUSC12-SM and PGTSC12-SM. For the cords, the SCSCSM, and for SC to LC, the LCSCSM.
Good to Know
UPC is the flat-polish adapter, blue, and it mates with UPC pigtails and UPC cords; an APC connector, green, in a UPC adapter gives an air gap at the angled face and a loss spike, so on a PON or an RF-over-glass plant the green FAP-SM-SCA-3D is the same plate in APC. This is a single-mode panel; a multimode SC will physically fit, but the sleeves and the blue coding are for 9/125 µm fiber, and a mixed panel invites a wrong patch. This plate and the simplex FAP-SM-SC-6S both carry 6 fibers in one slot; the difference is that a duplex coupler holds a transmit-and-receive pair side by side and keeps polarity for you, which is what most two-fiber Ethernet links want, while the simplex plate suits single-fiber circuits or a panel where the pairing changes. For a full 12-fiber cable on one plate, the FAP-SM-SC-6D is the same duplex layout at twice the count. Check the LGX slot before you order: 130 by 30 mm is the standard single-width cutout, and this plate is the same footprint as the Corning CCH-CP06-59, so it fits enclosures built to that pattern; any slot left empty takes the FAP-BLANK blanking plate. The adapters are horizontal, so the duplex cords lie side by side across the slot and the panel's cable management has to clear them to the left and right. Plug the pigtails into the back before you mount the plate, since there's more room with the plate in your hand, and keep a dust cap in any adapter without a cord in it. Keep the A and B fibers of each duplex pair in the right positions on the back so the front polarity comes out as the as-built says. Clean and inspect every connector before it goes into an adapter, and label the plate's ports by fiber number so the tray and the panel agree.
