6-Fiber LGX Adapter Panel, 3 Duplex SC Multimode OM1, Orange (FAP-MM-SC1-3D)

This is a 6-fiber LGX adapter panel loaded with three duplex SC multimode adapters for 62.5/125 µm OM1. It's a cold-rolled steel plate, 130 by 30 mm, which is the single-width LGX footprint, with the three couplers mounted horizontally through it on their plastic flanges. Each adapter has ceramic zirconia alignment sleeves and the orange coding that marks OM1, and the SC connectors on the pigtails plug into the back while the patch cords plug into the front, so one plate turns a spliced 6-fiber OM1 cable, or half of a 12-fiber one, into 6 SC ports paired for three two-fiber links. It's the plate for an older 62.5 µm plant on SC that is being repaired or extended at Gigabit, not replaced. It drops into any LGX slot: the RMFP rack-mount splice-and-patch panels, the RMFP-001 patch-only panel, and any other LGX enclosure. It's sold individually. Where It Fits

It suits a campus or a building built on 62.5 µm multimode in the 1990s and 2000s, where the panels and the switches are on SC, the links are Gigabit or slower, and a 6-fiber cable between two closets is being brought into an LGX enclosure. It suits a small office or a school where the OM1 plant is staying and a damaged coupler bracket is being replaced with a proper plate. Installers repairing a cut OM1 run and splicing it to SC pigtails in the tray behind the panel use it, and so do techs who need one orange plate beside the aqua ones in a mixed rack so the OM1 circuits can't be patched to the wrong fiber. A retrofit where the cable in the conduit is 62.5 µm and the budget covers a new panel but not new fiber is a candidate. It goes with the OM1 bulk fiber, the OM1 SC pigtails, the splice trays, and the OM1 SC patch cords from the fiber collections, and with the LGX enclosures from the fiber panel collection. Good to Know

Match the fiber on both sides: this is a 62.5 µm OM1 panel, and the adapters will happily mate an aqua 50 µm OM3 cord to an OM1 pigtail, with the core mismatch loss landing at the panel; keep the pigtails, the panel, and the cords all OM1, and the orange color is the cue. The panel doesn't set the reach, the fiber does: OM1 carries Gigabit to 275 meters and 10 Gigabit only to about 33 meters, so this is a plate for keeping a Gigabit plant running; when the plant moves to 10 Gigabit the cable changes too, and the aqua FAP-MM-SCG-3D is the plate to match it. This plate and a simplex OM1 plate would both carry 6 fibers in one slot; the duplex coupler holds a transmit-and-receive pair side by side and keeps polarity for you, which is what a two-fiber Ethernet link wants. Check the LGX slot before you order: 130 by 30 mm is the standard single-width cutout, so the plate fits enclosures built to that pattern, and any slot left empty takes the FAP-BLANK blanking plate. The adapters are horizontal, so the duplex cords lie side by side across the slot and the panel's cable management has to clear them to the left and right. Plug the pigtails into the back before you mount the plate, since there's more room with the plate in your hand, and keep a dust cap in any adapter without a cord in it. Keep the A and B fibers of each duplex pair in the right positions on the back so the front polarity comes out as the as-built says. Clean and inspect every connector before it goes into an adapter, and label the plate's ports by fiber number so the tray and the panel agree.
