6-Fiber LGX Adapter Panel, 3 Duplex SC Multimode OM3/OM4 10G (FAP-MM-SCG-3D)

This is a 6-fiber LGX adapter panel loaded with three duplex SC multimode adapters for 10 Gigabit OM3 and OM4. It's a cold-rolled steel plate, 130 by 30 mm, which is the single-width LGX footprint, with the three couplers mounted horizontally through it on their plastic flanges. Each adapter has ceramic zirconia alignment sleeves and the aqua housing that marks laser-optimized 50/125 µm multimode, and the SC connectors on the pigtails plug into the back while the patch cords plug into the front, so one plate turns a spliced 6-fiber OM3 or OM4 cable, or half of a 12-fiber one, into 6 SC ports for 10GBASE-SR. It drops into any LGX slot: the RMFP rack-mount splice-and-patch panels, the RMFP-001 patch-only panel, and any other LGX enclosure. It's sold individually. Where It Fits

It suits a drop point or a small office where a 6-fiber OM3 or OM4 cable lands in an LGX enclosure on SC and three duplex 10 Gigabit links are all the site needs. It suits a building backbone in a telecom room where the switches or the media converters are on SC and the plant is being upgraded to 10 Gigabit without changing the connector. Installers filling one LGX slot for a small multimode entry use it, and so do techs replacing a beige OM1 SC plate with an aqua one as the plant moves to OM3. A wall-mount box with a single LGX cutout and an SC plant is a candidate. It goes with the OM3 and OM4 bulk fiber, the multimode SC pigtails, the splice trays, and the OM3 and OM4 SC patch cords from the fiber collections, and with the LGX enclosures from the fiber panel collection. Good to Know

Match the fiber on both sides: this is an aqua 50/125 µm panel, and the adapters will happily mate an orange 62.5 µm OM1 cord to an OM3 pigtail, with the core mismatch loss landing at the panel; keep the pigtails, the panel, and the cords all OM3 or OM4, and the aqua color is the cue. The panel doesn't set the reach, the fiber does: OM3 carries 10GBASE-SR to 300 meters and OM4 to 400 meters, and the panel adds a mated pair to the link, which the loss budget has to carry. Six SC ports is what a single-width plate holds with duplex SC, where an LC plate holds 12 or 24 in the same slot, so if the switches are on LC anyway, the FAP-MM-LCG-6DF with LC-to-SC cords to the SC gear uses the slot better; this plate is for the site where SC is the port on both ends. Check the LGX slot before you order: 130 by 30 mm is the standard single-width cutout, and this plate is the same footprint as the Corning CCH-CP06-E7, so it fits enclosures built to that pattern; a double-width slot takes two of these or a blank filler beside one. The adapters are horizontal, so the duplex cords lie side by side across the slot and the panel's cable management has to clear them to the left and right. Plug the pigtails into the back before you mount the plate, since there's more room with the plate in your hand, and keep dust caps in any adapter without a cord in it. Keep the A and B fibers of each duplex pair in the right positions on the back so the front polarity comes out as the as-built says. Clean and inspect every connector before it goes into an adapter, and label the plate's ports by fiber number so the tray and the panel agree.
