6-Fiber LGX Adapter Panel, 3 Duplex SC/APC Single-Mode (FAP-SM-SCA-3D)
Couldn't load pickup availability
This is a 6-fiber LGX adapter panel loaded with three duplex SC/APC single-mode adapters. It's a 1.6 mm cold-rolled steel plate, 130 by 30 mm, which is the single-width LGX footprint, with the three couplers mounted horizontally through it on their plastic flanges. Each adapter has ceramic alignment sleeves and the green housing that marks APC, the angled polish that keeps back reflection low, and the SC/APC connectors on the pigtails plug into the back while the patch cords plug into the front, so one plate turns a spliced 6-fiber cable, or half of a 12-fiber one, into 6 SC/APC ports paired for three two-fiber circuits. It's the plate for a small CATV or RF-over-glass site, or a PON drop point, where every connector in the channel has to be APC and six fibers is the count. It drops into any LGX slot: the RMFP rack-mount splice-and-patch panels, the RMFP-001 patch-only panel, and any other LGX enclosure. It's sold individually. For 12 SC/APC ports on one plate, the FAP-SM-SCA-6D; for 6 simplex SC/APC ports, the FAP-SM-SCA-6S; for the SC/APC pigtails that plug into the back, the PGUSC12-SMA and PGTSC12-SMA; for the cords on the front, the SCASCASM, and for SC/APC to LC/APC, the LCASCASM; for the enclosures, the RMFP-015, RMFP-016, RMFP-018, and RMFP-001, and the WMFP-015 wall-mount APC box.
Features
- Three duplex SC/APC adapters, 6 fibers. Single-mode, green housings, ceramic alignment sleeves.
- APC polish. For PON, FTTx, CATV, and RF-over-fiber plants that need low back reflection.
- LGX footprint. 130 × 30 mm single-width plate; fits standard LGX panels and enclosures.
- Cold-rolled steel, 1.6 mm.
- Horizontal couplers on flanges. Each adapter clips through the plate on its own plastic flanges.
- Sold individually.
Where It Fits
It suits a small CATV node or a hub site where a 6-fiber cable carries three transmit-and-receive circuits on SC/APC and the enclosure has one slot to spare. It suits an FTTB or MDU distribution point on a PON, where a 6-fiber drop is spliced out to SC/APC pigtails in the tray behind and comes out as green ports for the building. Installers building out a wall-mount or 1U enclosure on a low-count APC plant use it, and so do contractors who need one APC plate beside the UPC plates in a mixed rack to hand off to the service provider. An RF-over-glass headend with a few duplex circuits is a candidate. It goes with the single-mode bulk fiber, the SC/APC pigtails, the splice trays, and the SC/APC patch cords from the fiber collections, and with the LGX enclosures from the fiber panel collection. For a 1U splice-and-patch panel, the RMFP-015. For 2U, the RMFP-016, and for 4U, the RMFP-018. For a patch-only 1U, the RMFP-001. For a wall-mount APC enclosure, the WMFP-015. For 12 SC/APC ports on one plate, the FAP-SM-SCA-6D. For 6 simplex SC/APC ports, the FAP-SM-SCA-6S. For the pigtails, the PGUSC12-SMA and PGTSC12-SMA. For the cords, the SCASCASM, and for SC/APC to LC/APC, the LCASCASM.
Good to Know
APC and UPC don't mix: a green APC adapter takes only APC connectors, and a blue UPC connector pushed into it meets the angled sleeve with an air gap, high loss, and possible end-face damage to both ferrules, so the pigtails behind the plate and the cords in front of it all have to be APC too. This plate and the simplex FAP-SM-SCA-6S both carry 6 fibers in one slot; the difference is that a duplex coupler holds a transmit-and-receive pair side by side and keeps polarity for you, which suits CATV and point-to-point links where every circuit is two fibers, while a PON feed is one fiber each way and the simplex plate is the usual fit there. For a full 12-fiber cable on one plate, the FAP-SM-SCA-6D is the same duplex layout at twice the count. Check the LGX slot before you order: 130 by 30 mm is the standard single-width cutout, and this plate is the same footprint as the Corning CCH-CP06-D9, so it fits enclosures built to that pattern; any slot left empty takes the FAP-BLANK blanking plate. The adapters are horizontal, so the duplex cords lie side by side across the slot and the panel's cable management has to clear them to the left and right. Plug the pigtails into the back before you mount the plate, since there's more room with the plate in your hand, and keep a dust cap in any adapter without a cord in it. Keep the A and B fibers of each duplex pair in the right positions on the back so the front polarity comes out as the as-built says. Clean and inspect every connector before it goes into an adapter, with a cleaner and a scope made for angled end faces, and label the plate's ports by fiber number so the tray and the panel agree.
