Jonard's 11 Piece Insulated Tool Kit puts a full set of 1,000 V rated hand tools in one rugged case: seven screwdrivers, three pliers, and a wire stripper, each forged from heat-treated chrome vanadium steel and insulated for live work. The tools meet or exceed IEC 60900, ASTM F1505-01, and VDE, the standards that govern insulated hand tools, and they're tested to 10,000 VAC and rated for live use at 1,000 VAC. For a tech or electrician who works around energized panels, UPS cabinets, and power distribution, it's the set that lets a slipped screwdriver be a scratch rather than an arc, with the sizes a panel actually needs: Phillips #1 through #3, slotted 1/8 in through 5/16 in, lineman's, long nose, and diagonal pliers, and a stripper. Insulated tools reduce the risk of a shock or a short if you touch a live part; they don't make live work safe on their own, and the first choice is always to de-energize, lock out, and verify before you reach in. The 1,000 VAC rating belongs to the insulation, so inspect each tool before use and retire any with a cut, crack, burn, or exposed metal through the coating; the two-layer insulation on tools built to these standards usually shows a contrasting inner color when the outer layer is worn through, which is the signal to stop using it. Keep the tools clean and dry, since oil, grime, and moisture on the insulation lower its effectiveness, and don't modify or sharpen them. The tools are rated for 1,000 VAC and tested at 10,000 VAC; that test margin is part of the standard, not an invitation to use them above 1,000 V. The kit is the eleven tools plus the case; the case itself isn't an insulating item. Use the right PPE for the work in front of you, and follow your site's electrical safety procedures.
